Anchor text is a word or a phrase that is clickable and leads to the other page. Users identify clickable text through the blue color of the text and/or underline. There are different types of anchor text. We are going to demonstrate them based on the key phrase “affiliate marketing blog”:
Exact Match
The exact keyword or key phrase is used. For example, “Marketers can use this affiliate marketing blog as a reliable source of information”
Phrase Match
Except for the keyword or key phrase, there are also other words. For example, “Marketers can use AdSpyglass affiliate marketing blog as a reliable source of information”.
Partial Match
It uses all of the words in the key phrase but in a different order. For example, “Marketers can use AdSpyglass blog about affiliate marketing as a reliable source of information”.
Branded
The anchor text is the name of the brand. For example, “Marketers can use AdSpyglassaffiliate marketing blog as a reliable source of information”.
Naked URL
It is just a link. For example, “Marketers can use https://www.adspyglass.com/blog/as a reliable source of information”.
Random
The famous “click here”, “learn more here”, etc.
For your SEO ranking, it is important to make anchor text as close to the content of the page to which it redirects as possible.
