The featured snippet has position zero in search results and it is a text box with a quick answer to the question. The snippet of text that supposedly answers the question is automatically cut by search engines based on the keywords or key phrases.
Featured snippets come as:
Definition Box
When the user starts searching with “what is”, they get a definition (short and precise) in the snippet. The definition is usually no longer than 60 words.
Table
Google creates a table based on the page’s content. For example, it works with sizes, science inquiries, etc.
Lists
It usually pulls headings into a shortlist. It works with instructions, top-5 lists, the list of products, etc.
Featured snippets are not always welcome by SEO professionals since users already find questions in the snippet and never actually visit the website.
