GEO target allows marketers to target consumers from a specific location. It allows companies to segment their users, avoid wasting money on advertising in unprofitable countries, and deliver personalized content, based on location, weather, holidays, time zone, local news, etc.
For example, if a potential customer is searching for products or services “near me”, the ads of local companies will be displayed to them. Another example of GEO target usage is when users receive ads for ice cream during hot days or umbrellas for rainy weather. Companies also may display ads to those who are in a 1, 10, 20 miles radius near their establishment.
