Lightboxes are pop-ups on the site that appear on top of the site, blocking some of the content on the page. When the popup appears, in most cases the background is darkened and turned off. This means that users cannot interact with other content on the site. This is what draws attention to the lightbox itself. The lightbox can appear anywhere on the page, for example, in the center of the screen, or as a strip at the top, bottom, or sides of the page.
Lightbox is often used to get the email address of potential customers. This can be accomplished in a variety of ways, such as inviting users to subscribe to a blog, getting updates and newsletters, or getting a discount on your products.
In addition, lightbox is used to highlight important messages such as offers, promotions, or events that you are hosting. One of the other lightbox implementations is to focus users’ attention on a specific image or video that you want them not to miss.
The lightbox can come in many different styles, from combining images with text in the text on a simple background. There are several types of bright lightboxes:
- Promotion lightbox
- Mobile lightbox
- Email lightbox
- Lightbox cookies
